Why Central Texas
The Need Is Real. The Work Is Urgent.
Kyle is one of the fastest-growing cities in America — but growth hasn't reached everyone equally. Across Hays County and Central Texas, thousands of families are working full-time but still can't cover basic needs. Schools are under-resourced. Access to wellness and mental health support is limited. Economic opportunity is expanding along the I-35 corridor — but not always for the people who need it most. ROOTED for Change exists because access should not depend on your zip code.

Pathways to Prosperity is ROOTED for Change's flagship 16-week workforce and economic mobility program. It serves working adults in Kyle, Buda, and South Austin who are employed but still financially vulnerable — connecting them to career development, technology skills, employment preparation, and supportive resources designed to strengthen economic mobility.

ROOTED for Change is funded through individual donations, foundation grants, and corporate partnerships. We are currently funded in part by the CenterPoint Energy Foundation. 100% of program donations go directly to our community programs and initiatives.
