ROOTED for Change is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Kyle, Texas, working alongside families in Kyle, Buda, San Marcos, South Austin, East Austin, Manor, and throughout Hays County and the wider Central Texas region.

We believe access should not depend on your zip code. That conviction starts in Kyle, TX — our home — but it extends across Central Texas, where rapid growth along the I-35 corridor has widened the gap between opportunity and the families who need it most. Every ROOTED for Change program is built in partnership with the communities it serves: local schools, civic leaders, employers, and neighbors who know their own streets best.

Home Base
Kyle is where ROOTED for Change was founded — and one of the fastest-growing cities in America. As Kyle's population has surged along the I-35 corridor, access to education, wellness services, and career pathways hasn't kept pace for every neighbor. Our headquarters and our Pathways to Prosperity workforce program both anchor here, in partnership with the City of Kyle, the Kyle Chamber of Commerce, and local employers across Hays County.
Hays County
Just north of Kyle, Buda families share the same challenge: working hard in a booming region while opportunity stays out of reach. Participants from Buda join our 16-week workforce program alongside Kyle residents, and we partner with Buda-area schools and employers to expand access to academic support and economic mobility.

San Marcos sits at the heart of Hays County — home to Texas State University and one of the region's most resilient working communities. We serve San Marcos families through our education, wellness, and housing stability initiatives, connecting residents to the resources and coaching that turn effort into advancement.
Travis County
South Austin neighborhoods sit minutes from some of the fastest job growth in the country — yet many families there remain one emergency away from instability. Our Pathways to Prosperity cohort serves working adults in South Austin, building bridges to semiconductor-sector careers and living-wage employment along the I-35 corridor.

East Austin is where our story began — a historically vibrant community where rapid change has made housing stability and economic access harder for the families who built it. ROOTED for Change works alongside East Austin neighbors through wellness initiatives, academic support, and pathways to living-wage careers across the region.

We serve Manor residents through our education and economic mobility programs, connecting working adults and students to resources close to home.
