ROOTED volunteers and mentors are the heartbeat of our programs. Whether you give your time, your skills, or your guidance — you are changing what's possible for families and individuals across Kyle and Central Texas.
Volunteer

ROOTED volunteers support our programs, events, and community initiatives across education, wellness, economic empowerment, and community engagement. No matter your background or skill set — there is a role for you.
Minimum Commitment
10–20 hours per year
Flexible scheduling based on program needs and your availability.
Event & Program Support
Help coordinate and run ROOTED community events, program sessions, and outreach initiatives.
Tutoring & Academic Support
Support students with homework help, reading, and academic skill building.
Workforce Development Support
Assist with mock interviews, resume workshops, and career readiness sessions for Pathways to Prosperity participants.
Technology & Digital Skills Support
Help community members build basic technology and digital literacy skills.
Wellness Program Support
Support fitness, nutrition, and community wellness activities alongside ROOTED wellness partners.
Administrative & Organizational Support
Assist with communications, data entry, research, and operational tasks that keep ROOTED running.
Community Outreach & Engagement
Help ROOTED connect with neighbors, distribute resources, and represent the organization at community events.
Background check not required for general volunteers. Youth-facing roles may require additional screening.
Mentor
Invest in someone's future.
ROOTED mentors walk alongside youth and adults — providing guidance, encouragement, and real-world perspective. Mentors are matched based on program needs, population served, and your background and experience.
Minimum Commitment
25–30 hours per year
Commitment varies by case and program. Some mentoring relationships are more intensive — your ROOTED coordinator will work with you to find the right fit.
Youth Mentoring
Work alongside young people in our education and personal growth programs — supporting academic development, career exploration, life skills, and college readiness.
Adult Mentoring
Walk alongside adults in workforce development, career advancement, and economic empowerment programming — sharing your professional experience and lived wisdom.
All mentors working with youth are required to complete a background check and full onboarding screening before being matched.

Apply
Submit your volunteer or mentor application using the form below. Tell us about your background, availability, and how you'd like to contribute.

Hear from Our Team
Once we review your application, you'll receive an email from our team with next steps — including a brief video interview and a quick background information form for applicable roles.

Screening & Onboarding
Complete our onboarding process, which includes screening, orientation to ROOTED's mission and programs, and any role-specific preparation. Mentors working with youth complete a background check at this stage.

Get Started
You're officially part of the ROOTED volunteer and mentor community. We'll connect you with your program coordinator and get you scheduled for your first commitment.
